The Sun is reporting that there has been another suicide this afternoon, only about 24 hours after the body of William Sinclair ’12 was recovered from the Fall Creek Gorge. According to the Sun article, witnesses saw a man jump off the suspension bridge at 3:45 pm. Witnesses also found a backpack, jacket, and wallet on the suspension bridge. Stay tuned for more updates.
Update [5:39]: The University has sent out an email confirming the incident. It is addressed from the Cornell Police: “The Ithaca Police Department is investigating a report of a death near the suspension bridge over Fall Creek gorge. As soon as we have additional information we will share it with the community.”
Update [6:01]: Communications VP Tommy Bruce has followed up with another email: “I’m writing with more news of great concern to all of us. The Ithaca Police Department is investigating a report of a death near the suspension bridge over Fall Creek gorge. As soon as we have additional information we will share it with the community.”
