At 11:40 p.m. last night, a woman was stabbed following an attempted robbery in the vicinity of Schuyler House. According to a CUPD Crime Alert, the alleged aggravated assault occurred in “the 500 block of East State Street.”
The area, which is home to Schuyler House and Sage House (part of Cornell’s “South Campus” residential system), is between Collegetown and the Commons.

The assault, which occurred off campus, is being investigated by the Ithaca Police Department. The woman was reportedly “forced into her apartment by an unknown male and was stabbed after trying to fight back.” According to WHCU Radio, a local news group, the woman was taken to a nearby medical facility and is in “stable condition.”
CUPD indicated the suspect was “a white male, medium build; wearing jeans, a black hooded sweatshirt and a blue surgical mask. It is unknown what direction the suspect fled.”
