In the week since the first semester ended, there have been a few stories regarding Cornell that are of interest. Also, happy holidays.
Hotelie Meltdown
Heather Cho, a Korean Airlines executive and daughter of the CEO, threw a temper tantrum and demanded the plane return to the gate the flight attendant remove all because he served her peanuts in a bag instead of on a plate. The plane was flying back to Seoul from New York City. Cho is a Hotel School graduate, Class of ’99. Read more.
Former Heroin Pusher Graduates
Keri Blakinger graduated with the winter graduating Class of 2015. Four years ago, she was arrested for possession of $50,000 worth of heroin and was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison. She ended up serving 21 months, and finished her senior year last semester. Back when she was a heroin pusher, she was known as “Queenpin.” Read more.
Cornell Student Murderer Indicted
Cornell Student Murderer Indicted: Benjamin Cayea, the Ithaca local who strangled Cornell senior Shannon Jones to death on Thanksgiving, was indicted on one count of second-degree murder. Read more.
To keep some perspective on the Cho case. I can’t think of anything more horrifying than being served peanuts in a bag…unless you happen to be sitting next to a nutcase when you get them.
