More footage from Fox News’ recent visit to Cornell’s campus aired on tonight’s O’Reilly Factor.
Last week, Jesse Watters of Fox News released video of him interviewing Cornell students about a Cornell Sun report that found 96% of Cornell faculty donations over the past four years went to Democrats. Watters was later kicked off campus by members of Cornell’s media relations staff, who failed to articulate why they wanted him to leave.
“They called you a practicer of shoddy journalism,” O’Reilly laughed, referring to a Sun staff editorial about the video and media fallout.
Watters responded, “I didn’t embarrass the students, they did that for themselves.”
The only reason the word “embarrassed” was even mentioned was because the Cornell Daily Sun claimed that “embarrassing” Cornell was the intention of Fox News. After Watters made his statement, O’Reiily defended the student body and called out your head of media and rightfully so. I know adding these points to your article would not fit your agenda which is far too obvious by the way.
What is the agenda?
It seems to me that when you close with the stinging comment that “I didn’t embarrass the student body, they did that for themselves.”, that anyone who reads this will be thinking that big bad Fox News is ripping into the student body. I saw the interview with Watters and O’Reilly and it didn’t seem like that was the case. They seemed far more upset with the officials at Cornell than the student body.
