According to hip-hop artist KiD CuDi’s MySpace Music page, the popular musician will be making an appearance at Cornell on November 6th. Undoubtedly, if this is confirmed to be true, many Cornellians will be pursuing happiness at 8:00 PM in Barton Hall. Only question is why we couldn’t manage to book him for a Slope Day performance – I think we’re all still waiting for a good one before we graduate. As of now, there’s no word of CuDi’s November appearance on the Cornell Concert Commission site, or Barton Hall’s ticket purchasing site.
UPDATE: Someone knowledgeable of the Concert Commission’s proceedings has now told The Review that they “cannot confirm that date,” merely saying, “he’s made it on our list. We have people that post things [on MySpace] that never actually happen, but KiD CuDi is on the list of people we’re talking about.”
However, according to another source, CuDi had made a verbal agreement with the Concert Commission, but due to the instability of such contracts, the concert has not been made public. Similar circumstances with B.o.B and Billy Joel lead to disappointed students when the contracts fell through.
The Concert Commission pointed out that CuDi’s MySpace tour schedule may not be set in stone. “The fact that it’s on his website could mean potentially that it was coming through, but the record company could come through and say it’s not happening. We do have a date reserved for a concert in November, we have the budget – we have the money.”
