The Daily Princetonian has an article on the Cornell Greek crackdown just as a Princeton working group “on campus social and residential life prepares to examine the role of fraternities and sororities on campus.” A concrete policy has yet to be proposed, but it looks like Princeton is not afraid to follow step:
Princeton administrators have sent letters to the parents of incoming freshmen discouraging students from joining Greek organizations while stating the University’s policy of not prohibiting membership.
University Vice President and Secretary Bob Durkee ’69 echoed Cherrey, his co-chair on the working group, saying in an e-mail that the group will “want to … see whether there are lessons to be learned from experiences at other colleges and universities.”
Hopefully they’ll wait until 2012 to learn the real lessons from Cornell’s new policy.
Doesn’t Princeton basically have no Greek system to speak of?
no they do, they’re just called “eating clubs,” slightly different system but yeah it’s there.
We must gather all of the fraternities and sororities together to fight the man! They can stop us all!
*can’t
Agreed, JRO!
I am enjoying this.
