This might be not-so-new news for some of you, but the Edmonton Journal is hinting at Riley Nash returning to Cornell for another year:
If the Edmonton Oilers can’t sign their 2007 first-round pick, centre Riley Nash, who is likely going back to Cornell University for a fourth year, they would get a late second-round compensatory draft pick. When Nash was on The Team 1260’s Pipeline Show recently, he never mentioned playing for the organization that drafted him.
The Oilers’ AHL affiliate Springfield did not qualify for the playoffs, so Nash wasn’t going there for the Calder Cup either way. But if he doesn’t sign soon it does indeed look like he’ll be sticking around for another year.
