The Cornell Concert Commission announced this evening that The White Panda, the Chicago-based DJ mash-up duo of DJ Griffi and Procrast, will be performing on the Arts Quad on Saturday, August 27. The evening concert will be free to all.
The show comes a year after the CCC brought rival mash-up group Super Mash Bros. to Cornell for a free show. 8,000 students flocked to the Arts Quad for that performance, and the CCC is expected an even larger turnout this year.
“CCC is extremely excited to have The White Panda as this year’s free concert on the arts quad,” commented Dave Rodrigues, ’13 – the club’s selection director – via email late Monday night. “The music will be amazing, the crowd will be huge, and the dancing will be crazy. We’re super psyched, and you should be too!”
The White Panda first reached national attention in 2009 with their debut, mash-up album “Versus.” The duo has since release two more albums – “Rematch” and “Pandamonium.” Their more popular mash-ups include “Stereo Hands” and “Foolish Monsters.” The duo is currently on a nationwide tour.
