“Can I pay for this coffee with Ithaca Hours?” Excuse me?
Ithaca has it own local currency named Ithaca Hours. Not only is it completely worthless and not backed by anything, but its fun! As it states on the website: “It’s also fun to get and use something other than dollars (remember how much you enjoyed or still enjoy using monopoly money), and unlike monopoly money Ithaca HOURS really are accepted just the same as US dollars at hundreds of Ithaca-area merchants and service providers.”
I think Cornell just found a way to make up for its $230 million dollar deficit- print Cornell Cash!
